Ocean's Eleven

OK doing a movie review here cos I'm trying to incorporate two of my loves - writing nonsense and watching movies. The movie I'm gonna recommend today, if you haven't watched it since it's a rather old film, is Ocean's Eleven.
Here are my ratings, just so you can use them like for the following reviews I might be doing:
(1-2/10) I think I would spend my money on steamed broccoli instead.
(3-4/10) I'd rather do my math homework.
(5-6/10) Ok la, beats having to spend a day day dreaming.
(7-8/10) Not bad, can watch once or twice and still be captivated.
(9-10/10) WOW!!!! I'd give up sleeping for a few days for this!!!!

Cast:
Brad Pitt
Julia Roberts
George Clooney
Matt Damon

I rented the DVD the other day for rather simple reasons. Firstly, the sequel to it has been released, and I wanna watch the first part to the story before I proceed to the rather promising Ocean's Twelve. Also I couldn't only get chick flicks which are what i usually watch (there's no need to activate any use of the brain cells when it comes to these), since my brother instructed me to get something for him. So I got this, since it's a spy movie with cute guys and Julia Roberts, so it's the best of both worlds.

The plot is rather simple, though you don't really know till somewhere in the middle. To cut the long story short it's how this cool guy Danny Ocean wanted to rob the three largest casinoes in Las Vegas, and he does it with the even cooler Brad Pitt along with 9 other guys. Julia Robert's the 11th one, forming Ocean's Eleven. So they do it, obviously. To tell any more would be brutal, so go watch it yeself!

With its stunning cast, Ocean's Eleven scores not only because of its multiple eye-candies, but also more importantly it's ever amazing plot. Tightly woven by screenwriter Ted Griffin (Matchstick Men), the development of the plot is admittedly one of the best I have seen. A story within the story, a motive within the motive, a scam within the scam, yet so leisurely presented to the audience. What was most impressive was although the cast was a star-studded one, the story shone much more brightly through them, and the only role the cast had was to bring this terrifically-written script alive.

Yea so gals it's not a typical spy movie with bombastic spy-language no one but your boyfriends probably pretend to understand. And for guys it's not just a movie with pretty people and no substance. I'd say it's an excellent and annoyingly intelligent script, supported by a fantastic cast and crew, completely worth the money!
Rating for Ocean's Eleven:
WOW!!! I'd give up sleeping for a few days for this!!! (9/10)
